The Community Arts Partnerships (CAP) program, of the College for Creative Studies (CCS), collaborates with Detroit community organizations to create art and design education, experiences, and resources for local youth and families in support of individual and community development.

CAP archives all of its photos on Flickr, a photo sharing site that will allow us to organize photos every week by program (DNAW-EAST, DNAW-WEST, DNAC and Brightmoor). DNAW East students are preparing their final projects for the “Reflections” Exhibition this Saturday, June 2nd at the Matrix Center!

Students in the Detroit Neighborhood Arts Workshops program (DNAW East) are working in one of their last class sessions for the year. The students had the great opportunity to work in a wide range of mediums such as: acrylic and encaustic painting, using glass and tiles to create mosaics, spray painting, drawings, wax sculptures, using yarn to create self-portraits, beading, etc.

The students are preparing for their “Reflections” Exhibition this Saturday, June 2nd at the Matrix Center!

Henry Ford Academy is now enrolling for Fall!

Here is a look at the installations and other artwork created by students apart of Community Arts Partnerships. The work is currently being shown in the College for Creative Studies Student Exhibition on the 9th floor. CAP exhibited artwork from students (elementary, middle and high school) apart of their programs. The exhibition continues until May 25th and it is open to the public, free admission. Definitely check it out!
