As you may know, for the past two years we have been cultivating and creating the Edible Hut, a community gathering space with a living, edible roof and oculus to the sky in Calimera Park on the eastside of Detroit. It is an enchanting, pavilion-like structure made from a reconfigured Detroit garage with a roof of edible perennial herbs, flowers, and medicinal plants such as thyme, lavender, yarrow, and sage. After two years of incredible collaborative work by residents, organizations, artists, and schools, the hut is here!

We are raising $10,000 for the long-term care of the Edible Hut through donations by individuals who believe in the project and want to be a part of its impact and future. We would be incredibly grateful for your support. In exchange for your donation, we would like to give you something that shares the artistic energy of the Edible Hut. Our creative incentives range from the Edible Hut’s Guide to Edible Perennial Plants to a living sculpture to a special dinner hosted in your honor in the hut!

It would be an honor to have you as a partner in this intimate and powerful community project. We truly appreciate your consideration.
