DNAC at Detroit Community High School

Saturdays from 11am-2pm

classes will resume Saturday, January 5th

This past Saturday, the DNAC welcomed guest Nicole McDonald into the classroom. Nicole is a stencil artist and she demonstrated & shared her techniques and processes. Most of her work incorporates themes that are decorative and political in content.
We learned that Nicole uses unexpected materials in her craft. Most often, she uses watercolor paper to cut the stencils; the paper’s water resistance and weight make it the stencil plate material of choice as it supports repeated prints. Many thanks to Nicole, Erin, and Adrianne for an informative, creative demonstration.
