The Community Arts Partnerships (CAP) program, of the College for Creative Studies (CCS), collaborates with Detroit community organizations to create art and design education, experiences, and resources for local youth and families in support of individual and community development.

CAP receives general operating support in part from the Fred A. and Barbara M. Erb Family Foundation, Kellogg Foundation, Kresge Foundation, Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and many others.

More information about the SE Michigan Region for Wayne & Oakland Counties:

The Southeastern Michigan Region of the Scholastic Art Awards is sponsored by the College for  Creative Studies and supported by volunteer art teachers in Wayne and Oakland Counties. This region receives over 4,000 works of art and almost 300 portfolios from middle school and high school students, which are then adjudicated and selected for Honorable Mentions, Silver and Gold Key Awards, American Vision nominations, and Best of Show Portfolios. The art exhibit and opening ceremony are held annually at the College for Creative Studies. Approximately 1,000 works of art are displayed in this exhibit throughout all four levels of the Walter B. Ford II Building.

Detroit Neighborhood Arts Workshops (DNAW) students preparing for their summer exhibition and photos from the exhibition at the Redford Branch Library.

This summer the students worked with awesome instructors Leigh Ann and Amanda. Students created works that ranged from exaggerated self portrait drawings to monochromatic 3D portraits and more!

This summer Detroit Neighborhood Arts Workshops (DNAW) students had art and design classes held at the Redford Library. Here is a class session where students engage in creating exaggerated portraits.
