No pre-registration required, just plan extra time to stop in and fill out registration paperwork on the first day & bring 2-3 examples of the student’s best work for the teachers to review.

Registration is now open for SURA Arts Academy summer camp - a youth photography program for middle school students administered by the Arab American National Museum.

Registration fills up quickly - so make sure you get yours in early!

Students were put in small groups to interview and shoot photo narratives of one another. They then scan through all the photos shot that day and choose their best work. Dave Chow, Illustration teacher at the College for Creative Studies, also stops by to give a lecture/demo!

The SURA Arts Academy from the Arab American National Museum toured Dearborn City Hall to give the students an opportunity to not only see the facility, but interview members of the staff about what their role is in keeping things running smoothly in the city. Some of the students’ photographs are featured in this news program. Officers are sworn in at the Dearborn Police Department.

SURA Arts Academy is a youth photography program run by the Arab American National Museum utilizing Community Arts Partnerships faculty designed to teach middle school students about culture using photography and video as their tool.
