Students in our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) programs across Detroit are challenged to think outside the box and explore new ideas. Future Cities: Detroit

Students at Bunche Elementary-Middle School collaborated on a 3D model of what they think Detroit should look like in the future.

Over the course of the semester, they explored media portrayals of Detroit and examined ways to change the city so in the future, positive stories would far outweigh the negative. As their ideas developed, students worked together to build a 3D model of Detroit, carefully including components that would encourage positive activities (green space, efficient public transportation, local shopping options, etc…).
